Ed James

Ed shot to fame through his Scott Cullen series which won him a legion of fans that propelled him to the top of bestseller lists.

The Edinburgh-set Cullen novels are classic Scottish noir in true Rankin and Rebus style. The first Cullen book, Ghost in the Machine, established Ed as one to watch – not least because of his soaring sales figures. He rapidly followed that with three more Cullen novels, Devil in the Detail, Fire in the Blood, and Dyed in the Wool. Four more Cullen novels followed before Ed embarked on a series featuring DI Fenchurch, and a new series starring DS Vicky Dodds.

Police procedurals are Ed’s bag and the long arm of the law his speciality. He has also written the Supernature series, featuring vampires and other folkloric creatures, but we don’t talk about those.

Ed lives in the East Lothian countryside with his girlfriend, six rescue cats, two retired greyhounds, a flock of ex -battery chickens and rescue ducks across two breeds and two genders. This collection may have grown since this biography was written.
