Chris Brookmyre

Chris is the author of 22 published novels to date, the latest being Fallen Angel. Chris has won several awards including the 7th Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction for All Fun and Games Until Someone Loses An Eye. Quite Ugly One Morning was the winner of the Critic’s First Blood Award for Best First Crime Novel of the Year in 1996.

Boiling a Frog won the Sherlock Award for Best Crime Detective Novel in 2000 and Chris became the only writer to win two Sherlocks when Be My Enemy picked up the 2004 prize. In 2007, Chris was given the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Award for Writing and has also been shortlisted four times for the Theakstons Old Peculiar Crime Novel of the Year Award, winning it in 2017 for Black Widow which also won the McIlvanney Prize. Chris is also a member of the Fun-Lovin’ Crime Writers and one half of Ambrose Parry alongside his wife Marisa Haetzman. Their second novel, The Art of Dying is due out in August 2019 following on from the huge success of The Way of All Flesh.
